The Knights would like to recognize the family of Mary Anne Oblaczynski as our Family of the Month. Mary Anne is a single parent who has successfully raised her family that includes four children, four grandchildren (ages 5-18) and Shotgun a 100 lb Mastodon. She has been an inspiration to our St Peter parishioners since the founding days of our parish.
Mary Anne is a true Floridian, raised in Jupiter and Tequesta. Her family were active members of St Jude, but after a family move to Jupiter, St Peter became her spiritual home. She believes she is parishioner number 11. In the early days, prior to the construction of the original church which is now the hall, meetings and services were held at a funeral home and local school buildings. She was active in the fundraising for the beautiful church we have today.
Her children participated in our ministries serving in numerous ways including lectors, choir, and Food for Families. They and her four grandchildren now live in Lake Worth, Ft Myers, Denver, and Manchester NH. Getting together as a family is always a priority at least once a year.
Mary Anne attended college in Boston University and received a degree in Education. Her career evolved from education into the field of accounting and finance, stemming back to the days when she helped manage her fathers’ books. Today she is employed in the construction industry with responsibilities to coordinate all aspects of land infrastructure prior to home construction.
She loves the excitement that she sees at St Peter, especially with our newer and younger parishioners. We are thankful for all the time she commits at St Peter, especially considering the demands of a full-time job, a mother, grandmother and dog keeper. You can find Mary Anne at St Peter Gift of Faith shop at all weekend Masses, where she will assist you with choosing that special Catholic gift. In addition to managing the gift shop, she works behind the scenes on committees, developing our meditation garden, and decorating for Easter.
Congratulations Mary Anne. We are very fortunate to have you as part of our parish.
